1. Introduction

Azness is committed to maintaining a secure, transparent, and responsible digital asset platform.

This Know Your Customer (“KYC”) Policy explains how Azness may collect, verify, and maintain customer information to establish and verify the identity of users and to help prevent fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions violations, identity theft, and other unlawful activities.

KYC requirements may vary depending on the customer's location, products and services used, transaction activity, risk profile, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements

  • Protect the integrity and security of the Azness platform

3. Who Needs to Complete KYC?

Azness may require customers to complete identity verification when creating an account or before accessing certain products, services, or transaction limits.

Additional verification may also be required when:

  • Account information changes

  • Transaction activity increases

  • A transaction presents additional risk

  • Existing information needs to be updated

  • Required by applicable law or regulatory requirements

  • Azness identifies potential security or compliance concerns

The verification requirements applicable to a customer may vary by jurisdiction and account activity.

5. Identity Verification Process

The KYC process may generally involve the following steps:

Step 1 — Account Registration

Create an Azness account using the required registration information.

Step 2 — Submit Information

Provide the personal and identity information requested by Azness.

Step 3 — Document Verification

Submit an accepted identity document where required.

The document should be valid, readable, and belong to the account holder.

Step 4 — Identity Confirmation

Azness or an authorized verification provider may perform additional checks, including facial or liveness verification.

Step 5 — Review

The submitted information may be reviewed using automated systems and, where necessary, manual compliance review.

Step 6 — Verification Result

Once the verification process is completed, the account may be approved, require additional information, or be subject to restrictions depending on the outcome.

6. Accepted Identification Documents

The documents accepted for verification may vary depending on the customer's country and verification requirements.

Commonly accepted documents may include:

  • Passport

  • National identity card

  • Driver's license

  • Other government-issued identification documents

Documents must generally be valid and readable.

Azness may reject documents that are expired, damaged, altered, unclear, incomplete, or otherwise unsuitable for verification.

7. Proof of Address

In certain circumstances, Azness may request proof of residential address.

Examples may include:

  • Utility bills

  • Bank statements

  • Government correspondence

  • Official residence documents

  • Other acceptable documents showing the customer's name and address

The document requirements may vary depending on the customer's jurisdiction and risk profile.

8. Source of Funds and Source of Wealth

Customers may be asked to provide supporting information or documentation demonstrating how funds were obtained.

Examples may include:

  • Employment income

  • Business income

  • Investment proceeds

  • Savings

  • Asset sales

  • Other legitimate sources of funds

Additional verification may be required for higher-risk customers or transactions.

EDD may include:

  • Additional identity verification

  • Additional documentation

  • Source of funds verification

  • Source of wealth verification

  • Additional information about transactions

  • Increased transaction monitoring

  • Additional compliance review

Enhanced Due Diligence does not necessarily mean that a customer has engaged in unlawful activity. It is a risk-management measure applied where additional information or review is appropriate.

10. Sanctions and Screening

As part of its compliance framework, Azness may screen customer information against applicable sanctions lists, politically exposed person (“PEP”) databases, adverse media sources, and other relevant risk information where appropriate.

A potential match may result in additional verification or compliance review.

Where required by applicable law, Azness may restrict or suspend relevant services.

11. Politically Exposed Persons

Azness may identify and assess customers who are considered politically exposed persons (“PEPs”) under applicable requirements.

PEP status does not automatically mean that a customer cannot use Azness.

However, additional due diligence or monitoring may be applied where required by the applicable risk framework.

12. Verification of Beneficial Owners

Where a customer is a company, organization, or other legal entity, Azness may require information regarding the entity and its beneficial owners.

This may include:

  • Registration information

  • Registered address

  • Ownership structure

  • Directors or authorized representatives

  • Beneficial owners

  • Identity documents of relevant individuals

Additional documentation may be requested where necessary.

Providing false, misleading, incomplete, or fraudulent information may result in:

  • Delayed verification

  • Additional verification requests

  • Other appropriate action

Customers should update their information when relevant details change.

14. KYC Verification Delays

Verification times can vary depending on:

  • Quality of submitted documents

  • Customer location

  • Additional compliance checks

  • Account or transaction risk

Submitting clear, valid, and accurate information can help reduce unnecessary delays.

15. Failed Verification

If Azness cannot verify a customer's identity, it may request additional information or documentation.

Verification may fail because of:

  • Incorrect information

  • Invalid documents

  • Expired documents

  • Poor-quality images

  • Information that does not match

  • Inability to complete required verification

  • Other verification or compliance concerns

Azness may restrict certain services until verification requirements are satisfactorily completed.

16. Account Restrictions

Azness may restrict, suspend, or terminate an account where:

  • Required KYC information is not provided

  • Identity cannot be satisfactorily verified

  • False or misleading information is provided

  • Suspicious activity is identified

  • Sanctions-related concerns arise

  • Fraud or identity theft is suspected

  • Continued access creates unacceptable compliance or security risk

  • Required by applicable law or regulatory requirements

Where permitted, Azness may provide customers with information about the applicable review or next steps.

17. Ongoing KYC Monitoring

Azness may periodically review and update customer information based on risk, account activity, regulatory requirements, or changes in the customer's circumstances.

Customers may be asked to complete verification again or provide updated documents.
